Snow markers (ski slopes & mountain roads)
Since 1973, ABI Profils has been designing and manufacturing polycarbonate snow marker for the signage of snow-covered roads and ski slopes. Our snow markers are recognised for their strength, visibility and long service life, even in the harshest weather conditions.
Available in a wide range of diameters, lengths and colours, they are supplied ready to install, with several custom finishing options.
Applications
ABI Profils snow markers ensure visibility and safety in demanding mountain environments:
- Ski slopes: zone marking, boundary indication and obstacle signalling.
- Winter sports resorts: marking of access roads and safety areas.
- Mountain roads: winter road marking for guiding drivers in low-visibility conditions.

Compliance: NF P 98-405 / NF P 98-402 – REACH Directive.
Material used: polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate is the material of choice for ABI Profils marker posts. This technical polymer combines strength, dimensional stability and high visibility in a 100% recyclable material.
Key properties:
- High impact resistance: withstands snow, wind and accidental vehicle impact.
- Dimensional stability: maintains its shape even at very low temperatures.
- UV protection: anti-yellowing treatment for extended durability.
- Transparency and brightness: ensures optimal visibility, even in poor weather.
Polycarbonate offers long service life while supporting an environmentally responsible approach.
Manufacturing process and quality
Our marker posts are manufactured using plastic extrusion, a continuous process that guarantees dimensional precision and material consistency.
The material is heated, melted and extruded through a calibrated die, then cooled and cut to the required length.
At ABI Profils, our 15 single-screw and twin-screw extrusion lines (WEBER, AMUT, BATTENFELD CINCINNATI) provide high production flexibility and controlled seasonal volumes, particularly for winter demand.
Finishing options
Our snow markers are supplied fully assembled and ready to install:
- Application of Class II reflective bands for optimal visibility
- Installation of conical or helical tips depending on the terrain
- Installation of anti-freeze caps
- Optional customised printing (logo, reference, piste number)
These finishing operations are carried out in-line or post-extrusion to ensure adhesive quality and the mechanical strength of the finished product.
Each production batch is traceable, inspected and compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
