Sausage casing tubing

Sausage casing tubing

For over 40 years, ABI Profils has been designing and manufacturing sausage casings tubes for the food industry. Made from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) with a smooth finish, these tubes meet the specific requirements of French and European casing manufacturers.
Our extrusion lines, specifically configured for this application, ensure homogeneous and reliable production tailored to your needs.

Applications

ABI Profils casings tubes are designed to meet the demanding needs of the food industry. These tubes play a critical role in filling machines, especially in stuffers, where they perform the following functions:

  • Support and guidance for natural or artificial casings:
Casings tubes act as stuffing nozzles or cannulas on which natural or artificial casings are placed. Their smooth, non-porous surface allows the casings to slide easily, reducing the risk of tearing.
  • Transport of stuffing:
Casings tubes ensure the smooth flow of food stuffing (minced meat, sausage mix, etc.) into the casing. Thanks to their pressure resistance, they withstand the forces generated by the machine pushing the stuffing.
  • Uniform calibration:
Casings tubes are manufactured with precise diameters to match specific casing dimensions, ensuring consistent filling and uniform quality of finished products.

Materials Used

Our casings tubes are made from carefully selected materials to ensure optimal performance in food processing environments:

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
  • LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene)

These materials are particularly suited to the demands of the food industry thanks to their features:

  • Lightweight and easy to handle: Facilitates integration into industrial equipment.
  • Wear resistance: Withstands abrasion caused by the repeated movement of casings and product filling.
  • Food-grade hygiene: Certified for food contact, preserving product integrity and quality.
  • Ease of cleaning: Smooth surfaces prevent food residue build-up, simplifying cleaning and maintenance processes.
  • Durability: Resistant to corrosion, moisture, and cleaning chemicals used in industrial processes.

Manufacturing Process and Quality

Casings tubes are produced using plastic extrusion. This process ensures homogeneous products that meet the highest quality standards. The material is melted, homogenised, and pressed through an extruder to shape the tubes.

At ABI Profils, we operate 15 single and twin-screw extrusion lines, enabling us to adapt our production capabilities to the specifications of your projects.

Buying Casings Tubes from ABI Profils

With over 40 years of experience in manufacturing casings tubes, ABI Profils develops technical solutions in a variety of plastic materials tailored to your needs. We offer a range of plastics, from standard to highly technical or recycled options.

Production is carried out exclusively using modern technologies, ensuring resource efficiency and environmental protection. Tool design is performed in-house using 3D/2D CAD software.

To ensure each development stage is followed, we apply the FDP (Product Development Sheet) method. Functional and aesthetic analyses are focused on manufacturing feasibility and industrialisation costs. These documents consolidate the guidelines for your project.

A dedicated project manager will support you throughout every phase of your development, considering your specifications, technical constraints, aesthetic preferences, and environmental requirements.

Contact a project manager to learn more and discuss your project.

Development Phases for Your Casings Tubes

Here are the main steps involved in developing your projects at ABI Profils:

  1. Creation of the Product Development Sheet (FDP).
  2. 3D/2D design and modelling.
  3. Anticipation of the project schedule.
  4. Preparation of the Product Quality Analysis Dossier (DAQP).
  5. Material analysis and prototyping.
  6. Technical study and development of dies and tooling.

ABI Profils supports you throughout this entire process, from initial specifications to industrialisation.
